General Questions/New to Joomla! 5.x • Re: Incorrect DB info

It seems a little strange that this error should come up at all.
  • The first screenshot shows "this site cannot be updated to 5.1.2" but also shows the current version of Joomla is 5.1.0 meaning the database compliance shouldn't be an issue.
  • The FPA reports version 5.1.0 but 'agrees' with the Joomla update that the database doesn't support 5.x
  • Why and how would there be an issue with the database selected if it has up to this point been running fine (I assume the OP has had no other trouble). The update process doesn't ask for database information.
As has been mentioned on the forum a few times that I've read, an Akeeba Backup could be restored from a previously backed up 5.x site to a web host using MySQL 5.7.x. I just don't see how the selection of the database system (type and version) could be made in error or why a web host would be running concurrent database systems such as MySqL 5.7 and Maria 10.5.x. Normally it would be one or the other.

I would agree though, about the Default vs Next update channel. If updating within the same version series you only need "Default".
