That would make sense but the docs don't mention you need to be first on the latest in the 4.4.x version series (just that you need to be running "a version" within the 4.4.x series).

I don't seem to be able to access the Documentation wiki, I wonder if someone could add something to the effect of
"If the Update to 5.x doesn't seem to work, please ensure you're running the latest release of 4.4.x before attempting an update to 5.x" under the above documentation page, "Upgrade Step by Step" section.
